The Prince Takamado Memorial Masters Orchestra Camp

That camp aims at providing senior amateur players (40 and over) with a unique opportunity to study under the guidance of renowned professionals. The catch phrase of that camp is: "Sharing life and musical expertise through orchestral practice" It has been held since the year 2000 (Heisei era 12). That memorial camp is an expression of condolences to Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado for the untimely death, in 2002 (Heisei 14) of His Imperial Highness Prince Takamado.

    1. The camp provides lectures, analysis of pieces and technical instruction by sections (mainly strings, although some years wind instruments are included) under the guidance of renowned professionals. The purpose is to improve both the knowledge and skills needed for orchestral performances.

    2. A "model quartet" is analyzed and performed by the masters.

    3. An open lecture is also organized for ordinary music lovers.
